Your cookies taste just like my grandma used to make! Thanks so much for being so easy to work with!
I usually make these cookies during the holidays but when I don't have time your cookies are the next best thing!
Love your ordering system and communication, much easier than what I am used to from big established companies!
Continuing the Family Tradition
Scafuri Bakery has been a family tradition and staple of the Little Italy neighborhood of Chicago for over a century. Founded by Luigi Scafuri who immigrated to Chicago from Calabria, Italy. His daughter Annette Mategrano ran the bakery and other businesses, and was a revered member of the community throughout her life.
In 2007 Scafuri Bakery closed when Annette was 90 years old. Her great nieces Michelle and Kelly decided to continue the family tradition and re-opened the bakery in its same location in May 2013. The bakery still serves the original Italian recipes that were a neighborhood staple for over a century, alongside new classics such as lemon ricotta pound cake. More than anything, the Italian cookies have customers coming back again and again.
